Anuj Thapan, one of the individuals arrested in connection with the Salman Khan firing incident, has tragically taken his own life by hanging himself while in police custody.

Thapan, apprehended in relation to the shooting outside Salman Khan's residence, was taken to the nearest hospital where he was pronounced dead upon arrival. Reports indicate that he used a sheet to hang himself in the toilet.

Authorities had recently arrested two individuals in connection with the shooting incident outside Salman Khan's home, with Thapan now sadly deceased.

Police have confirmed that one of the suspects involved in the firing incident outside Salman Khan's residence has committed suicide while in police custody. Earlier, the special court in Mumbai had granted police custody until May 8 for the three accused individuals arrested in connection with the shooting.

Under the Maharashtra Control of Organized Crime Act (MACOCA), Special Judge A.M. Patil had remanded Vicky Gupta (24), Sagar Pal (21), and Anuj Thapan (32) to police custody, while Sonu Kumar Chandra Bishnoi (37) was sent to judicial custody on medical grounds.

On Saturday, police filed a case against alleged shooters Gupta and Pal, as well as Bishnoi and Thapan, under provisions of the stringent Makoka Act. Bishnoi and Thapan were accused of supplying firearms and cartridges. Lawrence Bishnoi and his brother Anmol are wanted by police in connection with the incident. However, Thapan, arrested in connection with the case, has now taken his own life.

Gupta and Pal, both residents of Bihar, were apprehended in Kutch, Gujarat, on April 16, while Sonu Bishnoi and Thapan were arrested in Punjab on April 25. Anmol Bishnoi, residing in Canada, claimed responsibility for the shooting via a Facebook post, although police traced his IP address to Portugal.
