Rajasthan Swelters as Heatwave Grips 18 Districts, Temperatures Soar

Heatwave Ravages Rajasthan: Relief Elusive as Temperatures Spike Above 45 Degrees

Heatwave grips Rajasthan as temperatures soar above 45 degrees in 18 districts. Relief seems distant as Meteorological Department forecasts temperatures could climb to 47 degrees or higher. Jaipur bears the brunt with scorching temperatures persisting. Barmer, Dholpur, Fatehpur, Jalore, and Phalodi record temperatures reaching as high as 46.5 degrees Celsius, marking Friday as the hottest day this season.

While some areas like Udaipur, Jodhpur, and Hanumangarh experience slight relief from storms and rain, Jaipur remains sweltering with temperatures hitting 44 degrees during the day and a stifling minimum of 30.1 degrees overnight.

The Meteorological Department warns of an intensifying heatwave, with temperatures expected to soar to 47 degrees or more in Barmer, Dholpur, Fatehpur, Jalore, Phalodi, Pilani, Jaisalmer, Churu, Banasthali, Jodhpur, Jaipur, and eight other cities.

The heatwave's second phase, anticipated to be even harsher, looms over Rajasthan, with the last week of May predicted to bring more scorching conditions. Day and night temperatures could exceed normal levels by 3-4 degrees in many cities, exacerbating the heatwave's impact.
