Punjab Police Unravel Deception: Canadian Bride's Ludhiana Saga Exposed
In Ludhiana, Punjab, a startling case has emerged involving a Canadian bride who defrauded her in-laws of Rs. 26 lakhs. The Jodha police station booked her under LOC and she was later arrested at the Nepal airport based on a Canada-bound flight. Presented before Judge Raj Karan's court, she was subsequently remanded to judicial custody.
Lakhbir Kaur, daughter of Suba Singh from Ranguwal, married Gursevak Pal Singh of Kamal Park, New Rajguru Nagar, on August 18, 2019. Her in-laws had invested around Rs. 26 lakhs for her Canadian relocation. However, upon reaching Canada on September 9, 2019, she refused to take her husband along. Despite being married, she acquired a P.C.C. for a single status.
Gursevak Pal Singh and his father obtained a false PCC by claiming to be unmarried. Following an appeal for justice, an investigation ensued, leading to the registration of a case under Sections 420, 120B, and 177 at the Jodha police station. Subsequently, Lakhbir Kaur, her father Suba Singh, Panch Bakshish Singh, and witness Jagdev Singh were granted bail.
Escaping to Nepal to avoid police scrutiny, Lakhveer Kaur was apprehended at the Nepal Airport due to the LOC issuance. Arrested by Jodha police, she was presented in court and remanded to judicial custody on May 15th.
