Raisi's Helicopter Crash in Azerbaijan Spurs Massive Search Operation
Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi's helicopter has crashed in Azerbaijan, prompting rescue operations despite heavy rain and fog. The exact location is still unknown. Reports suggest some contact has been made with central headquarters by those on board, raising hopes of no casualties. Alongside Raisi, Foreign Minister Hossein Amirabdollahian and Seyyed Mohammad-Ali al-Hashem were also on the helicopter. The crash occurred near Jolfa, close to the Azerbaijan border. Raisi was on an official visit to Azerbaijan, meeting President Ilham Aliyev and inaugurating the joint Kiz Kalasi Dam.
