24 Passengers and 2 Crew Members Saved from Tourist Ferry Amid Rough Seas and Fuel Shortage
The Indian Coast Guard successfully rescued 24 passengers and two crew members from the tourist ferry boat 'Nerul Paradise' that ran aground near Mormugao port in Goa. The incident occurred due to rough weather, with waves exceeding three meters, and the boat running out of fuel. The ferry, which had departed from Panaji carrying tourists, encountered difficulties, prompting an immediate response from the Coast Guard ship C-148, which was returning from patrol and noticed the distress signals.
The Coast Guard team managed to reach the stranded vessel despite the challenging sea conditions. They calmed the passengers, stabilized the boat, and safely escorted it to port, thus averting a potential disaster. Upon arrival, all passengers and crew members received necessary medical attention
