Phalodi Recorded the Highest Temperature at 49.4°C

Heat Wave Alert in 27 Districts

Red Alert in 20 Districts Issued by Meteorological Department

Jaipur: Rajasthan is currently experiencing intense heat and severe heat waves. The extreme temperatures and strong hot winds are making it difficult for residents to venture outdoors. Western Rajasthan remains the hottest, with Phalodi recording a peak temperature of 49.4°C on Monday, followed closely by Barmer at 49.3°C. In total, 12 districts reported temperatures exceeding 48°C. On Tuesday, a heat wave alert remains in effect for 27 districts, with more extreme conditions expected on Wednesday. Relief is not anticipated for the next two days.

The Meteorological Department has issued heat wave alerts for 27 districts today. Among these, 20 districts are under a red alert, indicating extremely severe heat wave conditions. The districts on red alert include:

 Avalar,Baran,Bharatpur,Dausa, Dholpur, Jhalawar, Jhunjhunu, Karauli, Kota, Sawai Madhopur, Sikar, Barmer, Bikaner, Churu, Hanumangarh, Jaisalmer, Jalore, Jodhpur, Nagaur, Ganganagar

Additionally, an orange alert is in place for Bhilwara, Bundi, Jaipur, Tonk, and Pali, while a yellow alert is issued for Ajmer and Chittorgarh.

 Rain Forecast Starting June 1 and 2

According to the Meteorological Center in Jaipur, the intense heat and heat wave conditions will persist for two more days. However, relief is expected in some districts starting from June 1, with the Meteorological Department predicting rainfall in certain areas. Light rain accompanied by cool winds is anticipated in parts of Bharatpur and Jaipur divisions. Strong surface winds, reaching speeds of 25-35 km/h, are expected in parts of Jodhpur, Bikaner, Ajmer, and Jaipur divisions over the next three days. This may lead to a 2-3°C drop in maximum temperatures in some parts of Eastern Rajasthan from May 29 and Western Rajasthan from May 30. By the first week of June, temperatures across most of the state are expected to return to near normal levels.
