Bollywood Star Takes Up Educational Responsibility in Rural Rajasthan
Akshay Kumar, while shooting for Jolly LLB-3 in Devmali village, was touched by the warm hospitality and engaged with the locals on the topic of girls' education. He pledged to fund the education of the village girls for 14 years, depositing the amount into Sukanya accounts. Former Sarpanch Madu Ram Gurjar confirmed this initiative, stating that Akshay Kumar personally opened Sukanya Samriddhi accounts for the girls and committed to funding them for the specified duration. This promise was made during his visit to the Devnarayan temple in the village, where he also engaged in worship and discussions with the villagers. Expressing gratitude for the welcome, Kumar emphasized the importance of education, particularly for girls. Sanwarlal Gurjar, a former Panchayat Samiti member, mentioned that Kumar spent time conversing with villagers at the post office, highlighting his commitment to the cause.
