Despite declining to contest, Balkaur Singh expressed his support for Raja Wading and Charanjit Singh Channi, affirming his intention to campaign for them.
Balkaur Singh also expressed profound sorrow at the passing of Surjit Patar, a renowned poet, writer, and lyricist of Punjab. He emphasized the irreplaceable loss the state has suffered and mentioned that his family visited the Guru Ghar to seek justice for his late son Sidhu Moosewala. Balkaur Singh found solace and renewal in seeking blessings at the Guru's house, believing that it symbolized a fresh start in life.
